I was a teacher for 25 years. One day a teacher threw out some ukuleles. Like they were going in a trash pile! I took them and decided to teach myself how to play. The next week my family decided we wanted to have a family band. Btw... none of us play any instruments anymore except the new ukulele player over here! Where was I? Ok so it's our first practice and my sister and niece are on their way. They randomly see a pig on their way and pull over to get a better look. His name is Boris. Stay with me because it all comes together soon! Ok so the pig’s name is Boris. We all have our instruments. My niece and I are on our ukuleles, my sister in on the guitar, my mom has a rainstick, my daughter is on the shakers and my other niece is on the flute. We write a song and laugh our way through singing it! Remember we haven't played instruments in a while! Now we need a name for our family band! As we talked about the pig named Boris we started rhyming and came up with the name Boris’s Chorus.

Anyway, we had a name for our band and I have ukuleles. The ukuleles needed something. I'm always creating art so looking at these ukuleles I wanted to create something beautiful so I decided to paint them. Each one was unique.

And that is how this all began. One of a kind painted ukuleles.
